In a collaborative project on the topic of ‚Dust‘, a theoretical-systematic approach is brought
into resonance with an artistically-practical-participatory one: Philosophical thoughts and
artistic ideas related to the material ‚dust‘, to specific artworks involving dust, and to the
relationship between artwork and theory converge in an email exchange. The exchange of
thoughts, conducted in sections, addresses various types of dust, the role of the artist, different
channels of perception, expansions of exhibition methods, cultural context, forms of dust and
materiality, media-specific aspects, as well as issues of mediation. In the process, the authors‘
artistic and theoretical approaches transform and develop.
